Walnut origin, kernel colour and form decide the price. Prices depend on origin, kernel colour and whether you buy halves, pieces or in-shell. Our walnuts are California kernels (akhrot giri) — shelled and ready to eat.

California vs Kashmiri walnuts
California walnuts are large, light-coloured and mild, with consistent size. Kashmiri walnuts from Jammu & Kashmir have thinner shells and a richer, slightly bolder taste, and are often sold in-shell. What decides the akhrot price per kg
Kernel colour (lighter kernels are fresher and cost more), halves versus pieces, origin and in-shell versus shelled — shelled kernels cost more per kg because half the weight of an in-shell walnut is shell. The price table above shows our live pack prices, inclusive of GST.
How to store walnuts
Walnuts are rich in omega-3 fats, which turn rancid in heat. Keep them in an airtight container in the fridge (or freezer for longer storage), away from strong smells.
