Almonds (badam) buying guide — types, price per kg and how to choose
Almond prices depend on the variety, kernel size and whether they are plain or flavoured. Our plain almonds are California almonds; our flavoured badam come in savoury, sweet and chocodip ranges. Mix any of them — the Buy 2+ and Buy 6+ discounts apply across products.

California vs Mamra vs Gurbandi badam
California almonds are the most common almonds in India: medium to large, light brown and evenly sized. Mamra almonds, mostly from Iran and Afghanistan, are smaller, concave and oilier, and cost several times more per kg. Gurbandi almonds are small Afghan almonds with a slightly bitter, intense taste. Our plain range is California almonds; Mamra and Gurbandi are not listed yet.
What decides the badam price per kg
Variety first (Mamra costs far more than California), then kernel size and grade, whole versus broken kernels, and pack size — bigger packs cost less per gram. The price table above shows our live pack prices, inclusive of GST.
How to store almonds
Keep almonds in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. In summer or humid weather, refrigerate them to keep them fresh and crisp for longer.
