Dates (khajur) buying guide — types, prices and how to choose
Dates (khajur / khajoor) differ by variety, size and softness, and that decides the price. We stock three kinds below; Ajwa dates can be ordered on request. Mix any of them in one order — the Buy 2+ and Buy 6+ discounts apply across products.

Medjool, Ajwa, Kimia and dry dates — the difference
Medjool dates are large, soft and caramel-sweet, and usually the priciest variety. Ajwa dates are small, very dark and soft, grown around Madinah in Saudi Arabia. Kimia dates are dark, very soft and moist, traditionally from Iran. Dry dates (chhuhara or kharek) are dates dried until hard; they are mostly used in cooking, sweets and festive recipes.
What decides the khajur price
Variety first (Medjool and Ajwa cost more than everyday khajoor), then size grade, origin and softness. The pack table above shows our live prices including GST, so you can compare the price per kg across packs.
How to store dates
Keep dates in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. In hot or humid months, refrigerate them to keep the texture soft and fresh; let them come to room temperature before eating.
